Herbert “Herbie” Pfortmüller has about 25 years experience as a lawyer in IP-matters, especially copyright law in the music, film and publishing industry, furthermore in media, promotion and art law, all from the legal and the commercial side.

Since 2009 Herbie runs his own law firm with co-owner Andreas Meili. Before this, he was a partner with Altenburger from 2003 - 2008, a medium size Swiss law firm with offices located in Zurich and Geneva.

Before joining Altenburger, for 13 years Herbie successfully managed his own law firm in Zurich and, before this he was with Nobel & Hug, another internationally known Swiss law firm providing advice and assistance principally in the area of stock and capital market, banking and finance, intellectual property and technology as well as in media and communications.

Herbie holds both a master and a doctor degree in law from the university of Zurich. Amongst others, he is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) as well as of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI). Since 2000 he is a member of the board of directors of Good News, the largest concert organization in Switzerland.

In terms of Filmtrust, Herbie is responsible for structuring and monitoring the legal aspects of the company.
