Beat Schönmann has over 18 years experience in both, public and private equity, in particular in the management and controlling of investments as well as the structuring of cross-border transactions. Since 1998, as of 2004 under the brand Beluga Capital Inc., Beat has been running and owning a finance boutique focusing on middle-sized M&A-transactions as well as providing corporate finance advisory services to the lifestyle-industry, such as media & entertainment among other business sectors. Furthermore, he has expert-knowledge in real estate financing, especially for properties serving the retail & entertainment market.
During the nineties for almost a decade, Beat was with Intershop Holding Ltd., a quoted international real estate investment company. As CFO and member of the executive board he was in charge of the Group’s financing, treasury, asset management, investment controlling, reporting and investor relations. In cooperation with Investment Banks such as UBS, Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank or Lehman Brothers, Beat was responsible for the structuring of several debt- and equity issues as well as mezzanine financing amounting a total of approx. 1 billion Swiss Francs.
Beat Schönmann holds a master’s degree in Business Administration and a BBA in Controlling &
Accounting. Once the new film investment vehicle is in place, Beat Schönmann will merge his Beluga
Capital Inc. with Filmtrust Europa AG in order to fully concentrate his activities on the film investment
business as partner and co-owner of Filmtrust Europa and the new Beluga Film Fund respectively.
